The 36th Annual Salmon Run presented by Stio, one of Bend’s most historic and cherished races, is set to return on April 20, 2024. This event, a testament to the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, is not just a race; it’s a celebration of community, health, and the environment.
Inspired by the iconic salmon of the region, the Salmon Run invites participants to experience the scenic beauty of the Deschutes River through a choice of three distances: 5K, 10K, and a half marathon.

April’s cool temperatures and clear skies in Central Oregon provide the perfect conditions for racing, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Every finisher will be rewarded with a medal, and participants can choose between a cozy crew neck sweatshirt or a performance tee at registration. The apparel, featuring unique 2024 designs, is available for purchase online or onsite.

The Little Fry Run: A Special Event for Young Runners
The Little Fry Run, part of the Pacific Source Kids Rock the Races series, is a wonderful opportunity for young children to participate in the festivities. This race series is a great way to teach children how to lead a healthy lifestyle. Scheduled for Noon on Saturday, April 20th, this fun run is tailored for kids who are not yet ready to run with the big salmon but are eager to be part of the action. Run all six to earn even bigger prizes!

We are proud to announce The Giving Plate will return as the beneficiary of this year’s Salmon Run. Serving over 500 families monthly through the food box program and approximately 40,000 individuals annually across all programs, The Giving Plate is dedicated to feeding the hungry with compassion and hospitality.
