As police departments across the nation celebrate National Night Out on August 1, Redmond Kiwanis is joining the Redmond Police Department as a sponsor of the event in Centennial Park.
Ron Hagen is chairing the Kiwanis effort and has been joined by 10 other Kiwanis volunteers.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
The local event began in 2018 and has drawn nearly 2,000 participants.
Police equipment will be on display and child-centered activities will include bouncy houses, face painting and the Kiwanis cornhole game from 6 to 8 p.m.
