The fire west of Paisley blackened more than 1,000 acres yesterday.
Dead trees and gusty winds made it difficult to battle the blaze.
People who live near the fire are being told to be ready to evacuate.
Dozens of campgrounds, trailheads and other recreational areas are closed.
