Redmond Airport Closed Until Wednesday @ 9a.m.

Redmond, OR – Redmond Municipal Airport’s (RDM) airfield is currently closed due to yesterday’s snow storm which damaged a navigational aide system. RDM’s airfield will remain closed until 9:00 A.M. February 27, 2019. The Instrument Landing System (ILS), equipment owned and operated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is currently inoperable due to snow damage.

The ILS allows pilots to land aircraft in weather conditions that are not under Visual Flight Rules (VFR). Current winter storms require use of the ILS for landing at RDM. The FAA plans to have the ILS in operation by 9:00 A.M. tomorrow February 27, 2019 (weather permitting).

While there are no arriving or departing flights, RDM’s commercial air carrier passenger terminal is open. RDM recommends passengers contact their air carrier directly for flight information. RDM’s website, www.flyrdm.com, provides direct links to air carriers providing service to RDM as well as flight status information.

Safety is always the number one priority at RDM.
