Bend Updates Parking Rules

bend

Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, the City of Bend’s updated parking code will go into effect. The updated code aims to make parking rules clearer.

Updates to the code include:

There are also updates to the code aimed at streamlining the parking ticket (also called citations) process. Parking tickets will now be under the jurisdiction of the Bend Municipal Court. This will create a formal process that’s fair and consistent for everyone and ensure decisions are made with judicial oversight, just like traffic tickets.

Under the new parking rules, anyone who gets a ticket must tell the Bend Municipal Court how they want to handle it if they don’t pay within 14 days. If they do nothing, they may have to pay extra court fees and face other penalties.

Beginning Jan. 21, 2026, parking tickets can be addressed through the Bend Municipal Court either online at bendoregon.gov/parkingcitation or in-person. Meter and overtime tickets start at $12, then increase to $25 after 6 days and $45 after 10 days. (Previously these tickets were $12 if paid within 72 hours.)

These changes were enacted by the Bend City Council after they adopted a revision to Chapter 6 of the Municipal code (the “Parking Code”).

City of Bend Parking Services and Parking Enforcement will no longer collect payment on tickets, will not be able to modify tickets once issued, and will not hear appeals.

Portions of the Parking Code will remain unchanged:

The City of Bend will continue to utilize the Passport application to pay for parking, obtain permits and manage parking enforcement. Ticket information will be exported from Passport nightly and imported to the Municipal Court System the next business day, for the purpose of adjudication and collecting payment. With this change, payments may be submitted beginning at 12 p.m. on the business day following the date the ticket was issued.
