A Terrebonne woman was arrested for DUII and other charges after hitting a police car during a separate DUII stop. The incident happened late Saturday night at the intersection of NW Wall Street and NW Lafayette Ave in Bend. The 25-year-old suspect was also arrested for Driving While Suspended, Failure to Install an IID, Following Too Closely.

About thirty-minutes prior, Bend Police stopped a 26-year-old Bend man and took him into custody on suspicion of DUII. The suspect parked his gray minivan in the intersection of NW Wall Street and Lafayette Avenue before being transported to the Deschutes County Jail.

Because his minivan was in the middle of the road, it was deemed a hazard and officers called for an impound tow. While waiting for the towing company to arrive, a Bend Police officer parked behind the minivan with lights illuminated to alert drivers to the hazard. The police vehicle was parked on NW Lafayette Avenue, just east of the intersection of Wall and Lafayette, and the officer was in the vehicle.

Around 11:30 p.m., the second DUII driver was heading west on NW Lafayette Avenue when she rear-ended the police vehicle. The police vehicle then hit the minivan. The officer was not injured, and the police vehicle sustained slight damage but remained drivable.

She was taken into custody on suspicion of DUII and transported first to St. Charles Bend and then to the Deschutes County Jail. The vehicle was impounded and towed.
