Oregon Governor Kate Brown held a news conference in Portland late Monday afternoon.
Brown said she will be signing an executive order which means a statewide cancellation of all events larger than 25 people, with a few exemptions. Pharmacies, grocery stores and retail stores are exempt.
Brown is also urging Oregonians to avoid any event with more than 10 people.
Restaurants and bars will also be restricted to only offer carry out and delivery service, with absolutely no on-site consumption.
This will last for at least four weeks.
