Proposed Bend Park District change would make it harder to drink in parks

A proposed Bend Park & Recreation District change would make it harder to drink in local parks.

The proposal would force anyone seeking alcohol permits to rent a facility and provide proof of insurance.

The Bulletin reports the change wouldn’t impact large, recurring events where alcohol is sold.

It’s aimed at people who get free permits by simply showing a driver’s license.

They would need to provide proof of insurance and to spend at least 40-dollars on a rental fee.
