BEND-REDMOND HABITAT REOPENS TO COMMUNITY

(May 20, 2020 – Bend, OR) — Bend-Redmond Habitat for Humanity just announced its plans to reopen its Redmond ReStore on May 22 and its Bend ReStore on June 8. Later in June both ReStores will be consolidated in Bend. Habitat will continue to serve families in both Redmond and Bend with affordable housing after the Redmond store closes.

When the Bend ReStore opens on June 8, the temporary store hours will be 1 p.m. – 6 p.m., Monday – Saturday. To ensure the safety and health of both customers and its staff, the store has established shopping guidelines for mask requirements, one-directional routes, donation drop off & pick up processes, hourly cleaning procedures, and more. The organization will also be consolidating its Redmond ReStore operations to the Bend location.

“We’ve spent the past two months evaluating our ReStore businesses based on the current situation with COVID,” explained Executive Director Scott Rohrer. “Consolidating our ReStore operations will help us strengthen our programs and outreach until we can begin building a new ReStore in Redmond. Our commitment to the Redmond community and families is as strong as ever.”

Bend-Redmond Habitat has already purchased land for its future Redmond ReStore, located at 2285 S. Highway 97. The current Redmond ReStore will reopen temporarily from May 22-30 with regular hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, there will be a close out sale May 28-30 featuring discounted items 40-60% off before consolidating inventory to Bend.

As for home construction, Habitat crews have been busy building for four families in Redmond and one in Bend. In addition, the nonprofit will begin building 10 new townhomes in early 2021 at its property on Quince Ave & 8th Street in Redmond. Meanwhile, infrastructure has been completed at our NW Cottages site and we can’t wait to begin building 10 Net Zero cottages for families in Bend.
