Oregon sees first case of childhood disease linked to Covid-19

(KATU-TV) – PORTLAND, Ore. – Health officials confirmed an Oregon child has pediatric multi-system inflammatory syndrome, a “rare but emerging condition” associated with COVID-19.

The girl is being treated at Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel in Portland, the Oregon Health Authority said.

Dr. Mark Buchholz, a physician at the hospital who is treating the girl, said she came in with very low blood pressure and could barely walk.

“The patient that we had came in with cardiac failure and was in shock. So she was right on the borderline of being very, very sick,” Buccholz said.

OHA said the girl tested positive for the coronavirus.
