On Tuesday night (02/19/2019) at approximately 9p.m., deputies with the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a video post on social media that referenced a possible shooting at a school. The post originated from a student at LaPine Middle School and quickly spread throughout the community.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputies spoke with several students regarding the post and one arrest has been made in this case. This is still an ongoing investigation.
The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office recognizes the safety concerns that parents may have after an event of this nature. There will be an increase in the law enforcement presence at the area schools.
