A dog died and a couple lost everything in a pair of La Pine fires.
The man who lives in a duplex on Shaw-Pine Court wasn’t home when the blaze broke out Saturday afternoon, but he saw it via a remote security camera.
He was able to notify a neighbor who saved one of his dogs, but was too late to help the other one.
A few hours later at the Wickiup Junction gas station, a motorhome burst into flames.
The fire spread to nearby trees and a wooden fence.
The blaze destroyed the RV and all of the possessions of the couple who lived in it.
The Red Cross is helping them.
