Two Deschutes County sheriff’s chases in less than an hour

Two Deschutes County sheriff’s chases in less than an hour resulted in the drivers of both cars being arrested.

Deputies were trying to cite John Logston for urinating in public when they say he took off on Highway 126 at speeds reaching 100 mph.

They ended up arresting him after they used spike strips to stop his car on Camp Polk Road.

Around the same time Friday evening, they say Jake Daniel of Redmond didn’t pull over when they tried to stop the car he was driving on Knott Road.

A tire came off of that car has they say Daniel tried to get away.

They say Daniel then refused to get out and started acting strangely, including taking off his clothes.

They broke windows to get him out.

He and a deputy were treated for injuries related to broken glass.

Court records show both men have led police on pursuits in the past.
